About Sidre
Rebuilding Lives. Restoring Dignity. Reforming the System.
Sidre believes every person deserves a second chance and the
tools to make it count.
We serve justice-involved men and women as they take the
hardest step of all: building a new life after incarceration. Through
business education, career training, mentorship, and a safe online
community, we provide the practical support needed to move
forward with dignity, stability, and confidence.
Our Mission
Sidre exists to equip justice-involved individuals with the tools, opportunities, and community they need to succeed after incarceration. Through business education, career training, mentorship, and advocacy, we help people achieve stability, independence, and dignity while working to create a fairer, more supportive reentry system for all.
Our Vision
We envision a future where every justice-involved individual has the chance to rebuild their life with dignity, stability, and purpose. By uniting education, employment, mentorship, and safe housing, Sidre will remove the barriers that keep people from moving forward. Over the next decade, we will empower 250,000 people to create sustainable futures and help cut repeat incarceration in half.
Our vision also reaches behind prison walls. Through the Sidre Village app, we aim to partner with in-prison tablet providers so individuals can access our business education program while still incarcerated. This will allow them to prepare for reentry before release, starting their journey toward stability and independence the moment they come home.
Our Values
Dignity – Every person deserves respect and the chance to succeed.
Opportunity – Access to education, training, and support should never be limited by past mistakes.
Community – Change happens when we stand together.
Accountability – We set measurable goals and follow through on commitments.
Advocacy – We push for systemic reforms that make second chances possible.
Hope – We believe in the potential of every individual to write a new story.
Why Sidre?
The United States claims to value rehabilitation and second chances, but the reality is often punishment without a path forward. Even after serving their sentence, justice-involved individuals face discrimination in housing, employment, and opportunity.
Sidre meets people at the most critical points: reentry and pre- release preparation. Our programs not only help people after they leave prison but also, through our Sidre Village app, give them access to business and employment education before they ever step outside the gate. By starting sooner, we increase the chances of successful reentry and break the cycle of incarceration where it begins.
What’s with the Name?
Sidre, Cidre, or Cider; however you spell it, the meaning is the same: creating value where others see none. Historically, orchard harvesters chose only the best fruit for market. The bruised, broken, and damaged fruit was cast aside. Then someone saw its potential. That “worthless” fruit was transformed into something new, useful, and valuable: sidre.
We carry the same belief into our work. Sidre exists to help those who have been bruised, broken, or pushed aside by society rediscover their value, build a new future, and know they are worthy of purpose and hope.
Why the Sidre Icon?
Our icon is built from three blocks in our brand colors: the left base block in golden ochre represents Education, the right base block in brick orange represents Employment, and the top block in deep red represents Housing. The two base blocks provide stability, while the top block completes the structure, symbolizing the building blocks of a better future, one step at a time.
Second Chances. Real Tools. Lasting Change.
If you are here to rebuild, you’re not alone. If you are here to support, you are part of a growing movement that believes in redemption, growth, and the power of community. Together, we can create a future where no one is defined by their past and every person has the opportunity to thrive.
Rebuilding Lives. Restoring Dignity. Reforming the System.
